I’m an experienced digital content designer and strategic communications manager with knowledge of multiple design platforms, media production, social media management, editing, federal grant assistance, public affairs, and journalism. Over the years, I have leveraged new media tools to engage diverse communities through strategic and proactive engagement of the targeted audience on social and digital platforms. In the past, I have conceptualized and implemented multi-pronged digital campaign strategies that promoted the policies and programs of a U.S. diplomatic mission; increased engagement on its social media properties through a compelling visual storytelling approach; drafted media advisories, press releases, op-eds, and talking points; and improved U.S. Department of State-wide understanding of the dynamic situation in The Gambia by managing the daily country media brief.

 

Since September 2023, I have served as a communications associate at the Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP), the largest nonprofit affordable housing developer in Montgomery County, Maryland. One of my significant accomplishments for the organization is employing compelling storytelling strategies in exploring award recognition opportunities, resulting in MHP being named The Washington Business Journal’s 2023 Nonprofit Developer of the Year for its Best Real Estate Deals.

 

I earned my Master of Arts degree in Emerging Media Design and Development from Ball State University (BSU), Indiana, United States, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of The Gambia.

I am looking for a new role in user experience research, social media brand management, digital communications management, content creation, public affairs, and public relations. My prior work as a writer, public affairs specialist, and communications and digital content designer gave me the chance to collaborate with a variety of teams, which enabled me to provide original and creative ideas and answers to challenging issues. I respect a human-centered approach to problem-solving, cooperation, innovation, and collaboration, and I eagerly anticipate working for firms/organizations whose values are similar to these.
